Christopher Maloney to meet producers as he faces axe from X Factor tour
X FACTOR flop Christopher Maloney is set to meet with show producers later this week as he attempts to salvage his place on the X Factor live tour.
It has been reported that following scenes during Sunday’s rehearsal for the final producers have decided to remove Maloney from the tour.
Contestants stand to earn around €120,000 each from their stint on the arena tour.
Rumours are rife producers have axed him as TV adverts for the tour have now edited out all images and mention of him.
The controversy started after the Liverpool singer turned up late for the rehearsal the morning after his elimination, with a source saying he “reeked of booze”.
The singer then threw a strop when he found out he only had one line to sing in the Christmas medley – walking off the stage and returning to his hotel room.
He returned to the arena later in the morning while the other contestants rehearsed and was reported to have sat in the front row laughing at them.
He then became involved with a heated exchange with the other contestants and production staff before branding fellow contestant Carolynne Poole a c**t and storming back to his hotel again.
Producers then made the decision to adjust the final live performance of all the finalists to exclude Maloney.
It is reported that Maloney returned to the arena minutes before the show was due to begin demanding to take part in the medley – however producers had enough and refused to allow him take part.
The singer said on his Twitter account that he had a ‘doctor’s note’ which was why he couldn’t perform.
He tweeted: “thank u @TheXFactor had a wonderful Time. an amazing experience. love u all. sorry I had a sore throat an doctor signed me off. good luck x”
However an official spokesperson for the show appeared to dismiss Maloney’s illness claim, saying “Chris decided he longer wanted to be part of the X Factor Final and has gone back to Liverpool.”
Maloney tweeted Carolynne Poole saying: “you'll do anything to get a headline! disgraceful! week one! bitter.” He later deleted the tweet.
Fellow over Kye Sones has also spoken out against Maloney, telling The Sun: “He’s had a mask on for ten weeks and it has well and truly slipped off and shown him for who he is.”
Maloney took to Twitter agaion to blast his critics, claiming he was the victim of bullying. He said: “yes I am being bullied! big time. there u go xx witch hunt xx”
