The Late Late Show has often stirred up a debate or two but it’s never been about ‘bum dimples’.
However, a cringe-inducing interview on the long-running RTÉ show did just that on Friday night.
Crooner Red Hurley revealed a little more than he should have as he discussed his wife Norma’s bottom live on air to presenter Ryan Tubridy’s amusement.
“This is something she mightn’t like us to tell you,” he said to his wife’s horror, “but Norma has a little dimple on each cheek of her bum.
“Believe me when I tell you, they’re really quite nice.”
Former Eurovision singer Red’s wife of five years covered her face in her hands.
“I’ll kill you!” she laughed.
The revelation came about following Tubridy’s prompt for a game of ‘Mr & Mrs’.
“What’s Red’s favourite thing about your physical appearance?” he asked Norma as Red stood blindfolded to the side.
“My face, I suppose,” she answered, oblivious as to what her husband would suggest.
Social media users were quick to discuss Red’s disclosure online.
“Not one to criticise the Late Late but the show last night ended with Red Hurley telling viewers that his wife has cute dimples on her bum,” Twitter user Robert Bourke wrote.
“Ryan says goodnight and heads to the toilet for a quiet weep. It's hard to explain how bad the Red Hurley segment was,” another user, Brian Foley, posted.
Red and Norma married in Dublin in 2008 after dating for 18 years.
They were both working on the show ‘Can’t Stop The Music’ when they met for the first time in the Gaiety in Dublin.
Red, who was married before, was the star of the show and Norma was one of the dancers.
“It was love at first sight,” Norma previously told the Irish Independent.
“It’s been great ever since, we’re best friends.”
