They’re one of the world’s most famous families and they’re set to get the brick treatment.
‘The Simpsons’ Lego-style is set to air in the US on Sunday, May 4 in an episode called ‘Brick Like Me’.
Here are seven things you need to know before the special episode:
1. Homer and Moyes
‘The Simpsons’ will follow former Manchester United manager as they are immortalised in Lego.
2. Famous yellow family
The world will see the famous yellow family in brick on Fox this Sunday for the hit show’s 550th episode.
3. 'Brick Like Me'
The episode will follow Homer, Marge, the kids and their wider community as they are transformed into Lego versions of themselves through a mysterious supernatural process.
4. Simpsons success
‘The Simpsons’ is the longest-running prime-time show in US television history, perhaps fitting that one of the world’s most popular and bestselling toys is getting involved.
5. Selman's idea first
According to ‘The Simpsons’ producer Matt Selman, work on the Lego project started two years ago before the crew had any idea of ‘The Lego Movie’ in cinemas.
6. Homer doesn't like change
The only other time Homer has changed from his signature look was in a 1995 episode when the famous dad turned three-dimensional.
7. Hope for a ratings surge
The show has recently hit a ratings low, but bosses hope this special episode could help kickstart the viewing figures again.
