The mum-of-one sustained an injured toe during training for ITV’s hit show ‘Splash!’ and posted pictures on Twitter yesterday of her black and blue swollen toe and thigh.

She has promised to brave the diving board and continue in the show with her injury.

‘‘I injured my toe before Christmas so it was a good job we didn’t have any training for a while. It’s still swollen and quite tender but I’m getting on with it,’’ she wrote in her blog for Hello magazine.

Determined to impress viewers this Saturday night, the singer said she worked hard to get in shape for the diving show.

‘‘I love swimming so I always try to go for a bit of a swim just before training,’’ she said.

‘‘I’ve been trying to do a few fitness DVDs, but I’ve had to stop because of my toe – it broke two months ago but it’s still very tender,’’ she explained.

The Saturdays singer broke her toe early on in the competition during the second day of her training.

Her rugby player husband Ben Foden is also suffering from an injury to his knee.

‘‘He’s been recovering from his knee injury so he’s been working on his upper body a lot but hopefully he’ll be playing again in a few weeks,’’ she said.

The Saturdays singer is taking part in the second series of ‘Splash!’ after Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards dived to victory in front of millions of viewers last year to win the first ever series.

‘‘Minus the injury I’m loving taking part in Splash. It’s a real challenge – there’s an awful lot to remember,’’ she said.

She admitted she wouldn’t be diving off the high board just yet because of her fear of heights.

‘‘I haven’t been doing very much off the high boards because I’m a bit scared of heights, plus I’m a perfectionist so I want to master whatever I’m doing before I go up there,'' she added.
