A young woman who could not build up the courage to ask the boy she fancied to the school prom was shocked when he turned the tables and asked her in an elaborate fashion.
Tiffany Gay from Texas US was surprised when Luis Velasquez got their whole high-school involved as he prepared to ask her to the prom.
The teenager who suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome, a genetic condition which causes insatiable hunger, believed she was leaving the school as part of a routine fire drill but instead was greeted with a romantic proposal worthy of a top notch rom-com.
As she exited the building Tiffany saw Luis holding a bunch of flowers as their classmates held signs that read ‘Will you go to prom with me?’
Bruno Mars’ top tune ‘Just the Way You Are’ added to the romance of the afternoon.
Speaking to ABC news Luis’ mum Jessica said: “He met Tiffany back in the seventh grade,” she said.
“Since then, Tiffany has had the biggest crush on my son. And since the beginning of this school year, Luis said he’s taking Tiffany to prom,” Jessica added.
“When you meet her she has that infectious smile and you’re just like, "Oh, my God, I want to hug you."'
A Go Fund ME page has been set up to raise money to help make Tiffany’s prom night even more special and more than $6,000 has been raised so far.
