Any regular wedding guest knows how painful some of the speeches can be especially if you’ve yet to even tuck into your beef or salmon - but one Irish bridesmaid was intent on livening up the proceedings with a specially tailored song.

Colleen Laverty a brave bridesmaid who is a cousin of bride Seana took to the top table to perform “Dear Seana’s Husband” a song she wrote for the happy couple.

“Sometimes she doesn’t really act like a lady. And when she’s drunk she’s just a wee bit crazy but you already knew that right?” the lyrics go.

“Don’t be afraid to admit that her cousin’s pretty fine.”

“You’re wife and husband and your true love is clearly proven on this day family and friends watched you unite. Can I have everyone on your feet let’s sail away tonight,” she sang.

The best speech comes contested though, with a video of best man Conor Darcy which went viral earlier this year. The best man sang his own song dedicated to the bride and groom to the tune of Sam Smith’s Stay with Me.
