What do Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and British dads have in common? Their choreographer, Paulette Minott.
Paulette is a renowned international choreographer who has worked with a number of high profile artists.
Now, she has her sights set on teaching dads how to improve on their dancing repertoire.
At the Domino’s Dad Dancing Class at Pineapple Dance Studios, Paulette teaches a group of everyday dads to dance to classic moves, like “Big Fish, Little Fish, Cardbox Box” and new moves like Twerking and Gangnam Style.
Domino’s Pizza asked 1,500 British dads and the kids that live with them, about the state of dad dancing in advance of Father’s Day.
The findings highlighted that 42pc of kids across the nation wished their dads had better moves.
One in three kids who live with their parents say their dads get so competitive on the dance floor that they’ve been involved in dance-offs.
Even more embarrassing is the fact that one in five dads admitted to having tried both Gangnam Style steps and Michael Jackson inspired moonwalking.
And it seems that is just the tip of the iceberg, with one in seven dads attempting breakdancing and one in ten trying to copy the Harlem Shake moves.
Younger, trendier dads consider themselves to be the best dancers, with one in four dads under 25 rating their moves as ‘excellent’.
Dad dancing icons are Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber and Dirty Dancing’s Patrick Swayze.
