She was nominated by Lyric FM Breakfast show presenter Marty Whelan to take the challenge.

The ‘Winning Streak’ host even kindly volunteered to do the honours and poor the ice water over Kathryn personally.

The viral challenge is in aid of Motor Neuron Disease, with a host of stars taking part on both sides of the Atlantic.

Kathryn has now nominated Marty Morrissey, Imelda May and Miriam O'Callaghan to take the challenge.

Ryan Tubridy took the challenge live on his RTE 2FM show yesterday morning – with fellow 2FM presenter Jennifer Maguire doing so today after he nominated her.

She then nominated the newly-crowned Rose of Tralee, Philadelphia Rose Maria Walsh and singer Sinead O' Connor.

Tubridy originally took the challenge after being challenged by Rose of Tralee host Daithi O'Se.
