Last weekend, a video of a police officer proposing to his boyfriend at London Pride went viral, warming hearts all over the world.

The clip of the proposal was viewed more than 15m times on Facebook, but not everyone was feeling the love.

The ex-boyfriends of both men took to Twitter to joke about the moment.

“If y’all could stop retweeting that picture of my ex getting proposed to by his policeman boyfriend, that would be great,” Jacob from London wrote.

"Also love how the internet wasn't satisfied with pictures and is now presenting me with a video of it everywhere I look."

He later added that he was “genuinely so happy” for his former partner.

However, he soon discovered he wasn’t alone, as the policeman’s ex-boyfriend also got involved.

“If it makes you feel any better, the guy proposing to him is my ex-fiance. So know how you feel!” Matt Thompson replied.

While some Twitter users hoping for a real-life romcom urged the two exes to get together, Matt quickly shot down the idea, writing: “Current BF is shaking his head at that suggestion!”
