Facebook brag about St. Patrick's Day drinking could land young woman in jail
A young woman could be facing a jail sentence after reportedly posting a celebratory comment to social media after she passed a breathalyser test.
Under the rules of her probation for a previous drunk driving conviction, 22-year-old Colleen Cudney should have had her feet firmly on the wagon.
But after being asked to come in for a random testing – after a boozy St. Patrick’s Day – Colleen took to Facebook to share her near miss “achievement” with the online population.
"Buzz killer for me, I had to breathalyse this morning and I drank yesterday but I passed thank god lol," read the alleged post, which relevant authorities were eventually alerted to.
Following the boast, Colleen was apparently called in to complete a urine test in order to detect alcohol drunk several days earlier – but she refused to comply.
"I hope they throw the book at you young lady because it's sad that you did something like that because you could hurt someone or kill someone," neighbour Anita Brown told a local media outlet.
Colleen faces court today and could spend up to 93 days in jail if found in violation of her probation.
