Dubliner rushed to hospital after 'There's Something About Mary' moment

Dublin man John Wyley got more than he bargained for when organising a charity fundraiser in a pub recently.

The 43-year-old, from Skerries in North County Dublin, was rushed to hospital after unfortunately getting his private parts stuck in his fly zipper.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a charity fundraiser for a cancer support group in nearby Balbriggan.

John's pain was recorded by his friend and Hamlet Bar owner Keith Curtin, who filmed the entire incident and uploaded it to YouTube.

The seven minute video shows John screaming and swearing at his fellow punters who attempt to assist him.

However, there was little they could do.

John was later brought to A&E where he was given a local anaesthetic to numb the pain.

Speaking to The Irish Daily Star, John said the problem occurred when he noticed his fly was half down while rearranging furniture for the fundraiser, which raised €4,500 for Balbriggan Cancer Support Group.

"I awkwardly tried to zip it up, ut I did it at an angle and got it caught and I was in awful pain," he told the newspaper.

"I didn't need stitches, but I'm still black and blue from the incident and you can still see the imprint of the zip."

So far, thousands of people have watched the video and Facebook - although that number is expected to rise rapidly.

The incident is reminder of a famous scene from hit film 'There's Something About Mary', which starred Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.

Stiller's character experienced a very similar episode in the bathroom before he was due to take Cameron's character to the High School prom.

Paramedics were called to the house and, well we know the rest....
