Bra tycoon admits embarrassing gaffe after lifting up man she thought was a six-year-old boy
"I thought something was wrong - his teeth were bright yellow from nicotine"
Michelle Mone, the bra tycoon, has told of her embarrassment after lifting up a man she mistook for a six-year-old boy.
The Tory peer, titled Baroness of Mayfair, was addressing 3,000 people in Vietnam as part of her mentoring programme when she made the gaffe.
Former Ultimo boss Mone, 44, told her one million Twitter followers: "Most embarrassing moment. Speaking in Vietnam to 3,000 people, thought this was a 6 year old, picked him up, he's a MAN."
The man, who is 46 years old and married, had presented Lady Mone with flowers, which she accepted and then proceeded to pick him up so they could take a photo together.
"The guy was fine with it and the whole room was screaming with laughter," Lady Mone told The Mail On Sunday.
"I thought something was wrong - his teeth were bright yellow from nicotine."
The incident provoked a mixed response on Twitter, with some users criticising her for embarrassing the man further, and others finding it amusing.
