It didn't take long for one punter to try and ditch their unwanted Christmas presents, having flogged their Beyonce tickets online at 9am on Christmas day.
The sale was the first unwanted gift put up for sale on popular online marketplace DoneDeal, according to its founder Fred Karlsson.
Speaking on RTE radio this morning, Mr Karlsson said they were put up for sale straight away as the recipient wasn't able to attend the sold out concert on the date.
There are now around 1,200 unwanted gifts up for grabs on the website, which is an increase on previous years, although Mr Karlsson said they are seeing the same trends.
He added that some of the more unusual gifts for sale on the website this year include a hedge trimmer and a pair of his and hers playboy dressing gowns.
As unusual as these may be, one of the most peculiar sales on the website was "Jedward's baby teeth", which a seller was flogging for €10 each, even though they were no signs they were genuine.
Mr Karlsson advised people who have unwanted gifts to try selling them online, as someone else may be looking for them.
"It's a win win situation," he said.
