FEW plays sell out before their first performance, before any reviews are published or even before anyone knows what they are about, but Enda Walsh's new production 'Ballyturk' has done exactly that.

'Ballyturk' had its world premiere at Galway's Black Box Theatre last night in front of an audience including Brendan Gleeson and his two acting sons Domhnall and Brian.

'Ballyturk' had sold out its entire Galway run weeks ago, making it one of the fastest selling shows in the festival's 37-year history.

The source of such anticipation is easily identified. 'Ballyturk' reunites Walsh with one of his regular leading men, acclaimed stage and screen actor Cillian Murphy.

Murphy stars alongside another of Walsh's long-time collaborators, Mikel Murfi, and celebrated film and theatre actor Stephen Rea.
