Ireland has long since been recognised as a centre of culture, and this Friday, September 19th, will see Dublin (as well as dozens of towns around the country) come alive for Culture Night 2014.
Now in its ninth year, Culture Night sees hundreds of venues open their doors to host specially-programmed events encompassing art, music, theatre, architecture, history, dance, heritage, film and more.
There are too many events to even scratch the surface here, but some of Dublin's highlights include a concert by the RTE concert orchestra at Temple Bar's Meeting House Square, and a performance by RTE Cor na nÓg at St Stephen's Green. Beyond those there are literally hundreds of hidden treasures to discover up and down the country.
Irish-themed events are also planned for London, Paris and New York on the night.
