Kim Kardashian looked to celeb photographer David LaChapelle to give the annual family Christmas card a lady Gaga style makeover.
The 'Kim Kardashian for Vogue' campaign is relentless. Last week Kanye West invited editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her red-haired sidekick to a New York Yeezus concert, and now Kim is demonstrating her skills at posing for a high fashion photo shoot.
No, we haven't banged our head and looked at the Kardashian's new Lipsy campaign - it is, of course, the time of year when the joyous Kardashian Christmas card is released.
This year the gigantic family selfie has taken an artful turn, under the influence of Kim, who sourced surrealist photographer David LaChapelle for the job.
"Our good friend Nick Saglimbeni has always taken our Christmas cards. But we're just going to change it up a little bit this year," Kim explained in the Very Merry Christmas Special. "David LaChapelle is someone I've always wanted to work with. [His work ] is like you've stepped into a movie."
The ultra-flashy photo depicts Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, Kris, Kylie, Kendall and Bruce Jenner in a Vegas-style arcade that appears to have been ransacked. Dollar bills, mannequins and gossip magazines lay strewn across the floor - see Anna, Kim only likes classy mags! - while each family member pulls their best pout in a slinky black frock.
Kim, rather tellingly, towers over the carnival-esque scene in a boobalicious version of Saint Laurent's sequin bolero gown, which she gushed was "like, outrageous". Note to Kim though: if a Vogue photographer asks you to change your hair for the shoot - LaChapelle requested she spray it black - you do so sharpish.
While Khloé might have snubbed the project as "artsy fartsy", it certainly shows Kim's ambition to seek a secure footing in the fashion world. We wonder what the mother-of-one will write in Anna's card...
