Xpose, watch out – these two beauties will be battling for viewers when UTV Ireland launches its new showbiz show this Friday.
The Herald can reveal how top fashionista Holly White has jumped ship from Xpose to join Jenny Buckley for their flagship entertainment programme, The Pulse.
Confirming that she’ll be working exclusively for UTV Ireland as its fashion contributor, style expert Holly said she was “so excited” to be joining the show’s team.
“Every week I will be showing viewers how to recreate celebrity looks and keep up with the trends on a high-street budget,” she said.
Meanwhile, stunning presenter Jenny has admitted the nerves will be jangling when her show debuts at 8pm this Friday, despite all her experience covering red-carpet events.
“We were going for a nice family drive on Sunday and suddenly I turned to (husband) Gareth and I was like ‘I feel sick!’” she said.
“I think I’ll have a glass of wine in my hand watching it this Friday alright and I’ll probably invite some friends around to watch it with me and have a little screening.”
A former presenter with Channel 6 and a trained actress, Jenny has met some of the biggest A-list stars and was once linked with Colin Farrell.
Now married for 10 years to businessman Gareth McClean, she has a four-year-old daughter named Jude, and has worked steadily over the past number of years. While she accepts that comparisons between Xpose and her show are inevitable, she reckons “it’s good to have a little competition”.
Her programme will be more entertainment focused, she added.
“I’ve known Holly for years and have real admiration for her as she’s brought her own business to life. She knows what’s going on and knows what works fashion-wise,” Jenny said.
“But we will be mainly entertainment focused, out and about and covering all the different premieres.
“It’s been a crazy two weeks, but we’re just putting all our bits together for this week. It’s exciting and it’s where I want to be, so I feel very lucky,” she said.
Among those featuring on the first show will be Oscar-nominated
director Lenny Abrahamson, alongside EastEnders stars Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie.
“I have done a good bit of theatre and TV, so for me, interviewing actors and directors is right up my street,” she added.
