Landing his role on the Nickelodeon show at the age of 15, Kenan Thompson went on to be the more successful of the cast, landing a role on the hugely popular Saturday Night Live in 2003. The sketch show broadcasts lives to a weekly audience of millions in the US, after it debuted in 1975. Thompson has remained on the show for the last 12 years, and is now its longest serving current cast member. Off screen, he married model Christina Evangeline in November 2011. She gave birth to their daughter last year.
Kel Mitchell also auditioned for the same role on Saturday Night Live as Kenan, however he lost out. While he has starred in several movies and TV shows since the end of his Nickelodeon show, mainstream success has eluded him. His biggest claim to fame since the show ended wasn’t of his own doing – he was subject to a death hoax spread on MySpace in 2006. He recently landed the role as a billionaire rapper on a new Nickelodeon show, which started airing this month. He had two children with wife Tyisha Hampton-Mitchell during their six year marriage, which ended in divorce in 2005. In 2012 he married his current wife, rapper Asia Lee.
Ken Foree played Kenan’s long suffering dad, Roger. Since the show, his biggest part has been the lead role in 2004 movie Dawn of the Dead. He now regularly makes appearances at festivals celebrating horror movies around the world.
Dan Frischman played Kenan’s boss, Chris Potter at the grocery store Rigby’s. Chris was famed for making awkward conversation with customers, often telling them he had a radio in his car. He hasn’t found as much success in the years since the show ended, his last credit being on 2010 TV movie Tramps and Ramblers.
Vanessa Baden played Kenan’s little sister Kyra, who was infatuated Kel. Since the show ended she has only acted sporadically, instead choosing to focus on her education. She graduated from Florida State University in 2007 with a degree in sociology.
Teal Marchande played Kenan’s mother Sheryl. Perhaps she realised her career would never reach the heights of four years on a Nickelodeon show, but Teal decided to retire from professional acting after the show finished. She married former Washington Redskins linebacker Ravin Caldwell and they hase a daughter together. They currently all live in LA.

The Nickelodeon produced comedy ran on the network from 1996 until 2000, picking up the ‘Favourite TV show’ gong at the 1998 Kids Choice Awards.
