'What the flock was I watching?' - Viewers bemused by ITV's new celebs and sheepdogs show Flockstars
At the peak of its popularity in the 80s, hit Sunday night show One Man and His Dog hit more than 8 million viewers.
Fans of that show, about sheepdog trials, may have tuned in to Flockstars last night in the hopes of seeing something similar albeit with celebrities attempting the trials and the perky Gaby Logan presenting.
Whether through nostalgia or curiosity, the first episode of the new ITV show last night pulled in 2.5m viewers.
How many of those will return next week? Judging by the tsunami of bemusement that hit Twitter after the show last night it may well pull in many more, if only to see how bad it is.
The general consensus amongst viewers, at least those on Twitter, seems to be that ITV needs to try harder.
Gaby Logan took to Twitter herself before the show aired, perhaps preempting some of the criticism by saying, "So excited #Flockstars is coming to your screens tonight. @ITV 8.30pm - it's a fun family show with dogs and sheep not University Challenge."
Of course, there were fans too. Our own Bressie seemed to like it, tweeting a pic of him "doing my own version of #Flockstars with my Goat Mate while out cycling" with a little goat wearing sunglasses.
