A hopeful Westmeath punter has placed a €250 bet on Niall Horan to win Celebrity Big Brother.
The bet was placed in Boylesports in the One Direction star's hometown of Mullingar over the weekend.
The line-up for Celebrity Big Brother was leaked over the weekend and features ex-Eastenders star Daniella Westbrook, Kim Kardashian's best friend Jonathan Cheban, former Mr Ireland Jeremy McConnell and Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff among the 16 contestants on the Channel 5 show.
Niall isn't expected to feature on the show but odds for the Westmeath star to win the series have been cut from 16/1 to 10/1 following the big bet.
BoyleSports’ spokesperson Liam Glynn told the Irish Daily Mirror: “After introducing Niall Horan into the betting at 16/1 following several requests over the weekend we have had to cut his price into 10/1.
"A rather large bet for a novelty market of €250 at 16/1 was placed in one of our county Westmeath shops also which also caused alarm bells to ring with our traders.
He added “Niall was home over Christmas in Mullingar and now that he has some free time on his hands with One Direction on a break it would be no surprise to see him enter the Big Brother house.
"If the rumours are true he certainly would become a clear favourite overnight to win.”
Geordie Shore man Scotty T is currently 3/1 favourite with the bookie to win the show, while former X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney is second favourite at odds of 4/1.
