Saoirse Ronan is doing the rounds of US talk shows and, following her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, she joined Stephen Colbert last night for The Late Show.
The pronunciation of the 21-year-old Dublin actress's name is a hot topic following Denis Quaid's appalling attempt during the Golden Globes nominations.
DeGeneres gave her a sign indicating how to pronounce it phonetically and Colbert asked her to which kinds of horrible pronunciations she had been subjected.
"I've had a lot of Sorsees, Suarez, Sarsee, Seershay," she said before he interjected with, "You do look a bit like a Suarez, Senorita Suarez. You've got a very thick Mexican accent."
She also schooled Colbert in how to tackle an Irish accent himself.
"It's not great, but it's not bad," was Saoirse's assertion.
