Viewers couldn't get over one thing on First Dates last night
Viewers couldn't get over one thing that happened during First Dates Ireland on Thursday night.
The second episode of First Dates Ireland returned to RTE2 last night, and there was one person on the show that viewers took a particular liking to.
Limerick man Brian Óg was a favourite for viewers before the show even aired, with a clip of him sharing some cringe-worthy puns rounding up nearly 70,000 views on Facebook.
However, on the night of his first date at the Gibson Hotel, Brian Óg's potential partner failed to turn up, and he headed home with the rose he bought in hand.
Viewers were devastated that pun-loving Brian failed to go on a date, and took to Twitter to express their disappointment through puns.
"Anyone else feel punbelievably bad for Brian?" said one viewer.
"Brian Óg's date never rose to the occasion."
"She stood him up? That's punbelievable!"
Although, it might not be all bad news for Brian, as several viewers offered to go on a date with him themselves.
"Ah stop that girl was daft to stand Brian up. Sure here if he's still single, I'm up for a date," wrote one viewer.
"Puns and a rose on a first date? Ok I'm in love with Brian Óg."
