Nostalgic: Chris Evans returns to Channel 4 with 'TFI Friday' for one night only, to celebrate the show's 20th birthday.

Hit 90s show TFI Friday returns to Channel 4 this week for a brand new series and host Chris Evans has bagged Bono and the boys to kick it off in style.

The show airs on Friday 16 October and sees U2 return to perform two songs during the live broadcast.

"It wouldn't be the first episode of TFI without one of the biggest bands in the world, if not the biggest," said Evans.

"We're over the moon that we've got U2 on the show. They're coming in specially, flying straight from a show in Antwerp and straight back to Cologne, making the time just for us, and we certainly plan to make the most of it.‎"

Also appearing on the show are the new Take That trio as well as Brooklyn actress Saoirse Ronan, comedy legend Steve Coogan, and punk duo Slaves.

The new 10 part series will air at 8pm.  It will be Evans' last as his contract with the BBC for Top Gear will not allow him to front a second series of the chat show.
