Top Gear fans have already found Chris Evans' replacement as ratings crash
Fans are calling for Chris Evans to be replaced as the host of Top Gear after the revamped BBC show's ratings plummet.
After disastrous ratings, fans of the hit BBC show have called for Chris Evans to be replaced by Jenson Button.
The Formula 1 driver appeared on Sunday night's show as a guest celebrity and won over the audience.
The British Formula One driver, who currently races for McLaren, is the 2009 Formula One World Champion and possesses a wealth of knowledge about cars.
Button test drove a McLaren 665 LT with Evans before Top Gear fans voiced their opinions on Twitter.
One user remarked: "I think Jenson Button would be a better presenter than Chris Evans. #TopGear".
Another wrote, "Can we replace Chris Evans with Jenson Button? Top Gear would be infinitely improved then."
The revamped BBC show returned to TV screens on in May with Evans and former Friends actor Matt LeBlanc at the helm.
However, the reviews have been less than impressive and the ratings have crashed after only two episodes.
It attracted just 2.8 million viewers in Britain on Sunday night, a 14pc share of the audience, losing more than a third, though it peaked at 3.3 million (a 15.8pc share).
