Some Game of Thrones fans were a bit confused about George Martin’s death
Beatles fans are reeling from the death of 'fifth Beatle' George Martin at the age of 90 this morning.
The 90-year-old helped The Beatles achieve global success as the head of the Parlophone record label after hearing their demo tape in 1962.
However, some Game of Thrones fans were inevitably shocked and horrified to see 'George Martin dead' trending as they assumed it was the series' author George RR Martin.
Many people on Twitter wondered how long it would take for mass panic to erupt as George (Game of Thrones author, just to be clear) has not finished his highly anticipated sixth book in the series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Indeed, some GoT fans admitted to having heart attacks and emotional breakdowns until they realised they were mourning the wrong man...

Is it bad that a) I thought George RR Martin had died b) I wasn't sad, just angry because he didn't finish the next GOT book? #GeorgeMartin— Jermaine Rowe (@JermaineRowe) March 9, 2016
Sir George Martin died today, which is very sad. But I thought it was George RR Martin and I full on PANICKED. #GameOfThrones— Katie (@HabibtiLOL) March 9, 2016

Oh my days, saw George Martin trending for being dead and I thought it was the Game of Thrones creator. I'm obsessed.— Khaled (@KhaledHxsan) March 9, 2016
Before you make a George Martin / Game of Thrones joke, maybe take a look and see if 60 billion people didn't already beat you to it?— Magpie (@sketchymagpie) March 9, 2016
