Simon Cowell has been trying to get a DJ talent show off the ground for a while now, but 'Ultimate DJ' has finally been announced.
The music/TV mogul is hoping dance music fans will get behind the show in the same way regular punters have taken to X Factor and Britian's Got Talent.
Yahoo has teamed up for Ultra Records for the show, which will be broadcast on Yahoo's live streaming service Yahoo Live.
Also, viewers will vote for contestants via Tumblr.
Fatboy Slim was reportedly first approached to judge on the show but refused saying that dance music is "not something that can be scripted".
Steve Aoki, however, has signed on the dotted line and Hamish Hamilton, who directed the 2015 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show with Beyonce as well as the Academy Awards, will direct Ultimate DJ.
The winner of the show will bag a deal with Sony Music and headline a dance music festival.
Yahoo chief marketing officer Kathy Savitt the show was “very much like the World Cup of EDM — country against country, DJ against DJ, fanbase against fanbase.”
