Sharon Horgan's series 'Divorce' starring Sarah Jessica Parker commissioned for full series
HBO has commissioned an entire series of Irish actress and writer Sharon Horgan's comedy 'Divorce', starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
Horgan's first series in the US will see the former Sex and the City star play a New York woman who attempts to divorce her husband - but finds the process a lot more convoluted than she expected.
It's SJP's first TV role since her 15 year stint on SATC ended in 2004 and she'll be joined on screen by Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon, and Talia Balsam.
Horgan is best known for writing and starring in Bad Management, Dead Boss and most recently Catastrophe.
As well as having written Divorce she will co-produce alongside Parker, Paul Simms, Aaron Kaplan and Alison Benson.
The show is just one Horgan had been pushing Stateside. However, her British shows Bad Managedment, Pulling, and Dead Boss were not picked up in the US.
Catastrophe, which aired to great success on Channel 4 in the UK and Ireland, however will be available in the US from June. It has also been commissioned for a second series in the UK.
