Actress Melissa Joan Hart has said that she's in talks to revive Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All.

It's hard to believe but this autumn marks the 20th anniversary of Sabrina, The Teenage Witch's first season on TV.

The series was first broadcast on ABC in the US in 1996, before being picked up by RTE2 and broadcast to Irish audiences.

And it appears that 20 years on from when we were first introduced to Sabrina Spellman, her talking cat Salem, aunts Hilda and Zelda and a host of quirky characters from the Other Realm, we might be treated to a remake of the iconic TV show.

Melissa Joan Hart revealed that she was headed to a meeting to discuss the possible remake of Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and her other hit 90's series Clarissa Explains It All.

After the news was shared online, the Internet freaked out with Clarissa and Sabrina-themed memes and pleas for the rumours to be true so Hart had to set the record straight.

"They’re throwing around Clarissa and Sabrina ideas. It depends on who’s gonna give up rights, who’s gonna do it, how’s it going to be done. It’s a lot of politics and we are no where near doing anything," she told FABlife.

Earlier in the month, when speaking to the Huffington Post, the mother-of-three also addressed the possibility of a reboot.

"I might," she told the site. "There's a lot of talk about it. I feel like almost every day, somebody's calling me about it. Would we do it? Should we do it? How do we do it?

"I think the thing about reboots is they're really hard to do. They're hard to do right. I think sometimes it's better to just leave it in the past, unless you do it really, really great."

2016 is quickly becoming the year of the TV reboot with Full House and The X Files back on screens, as well as the Gilmore Girls revival and TV versions of Dirty Dancing and Cruel Intentions in the works.

And anyone can make a Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All reboot happen it's Sabrina herself. She does wield magical powers after all.
