Rory Cowan leaves Mrs Brown's Boys after 26 years: 'I hadn't been happy for two years'
TV star Rory Cowan has finished his last performance with Mrs Brown's Boys.
The 57-year-old has been playing Agnes' son since 2002 and has worked with Brendan O'Carroll's company for 26 years.
On Sunday at London's O2 arena, he performed with the group for the last time, saying he hadn't been happy for nearly two years.
"I hadn't been happy working for the Mrs Brown's Boys company for the last 18 months to two years. I feel that 26 years is enough so I decided it was time to go," he told the Irish Daily Mail.
"I'm not going into details about why I was unhappy," he added. "I did the final show, packed my stuff into a small Waitrose plastic bag and just left the venue."
Cowan handed in his notice in June and agreed to work for the next month before wrapping up his duties.
He celebrated by going for dinner with friends in London and has not committed to any gigs, but would be open to doing a weekend radio show.
