Simon Delaney, who appeared on the very well received first season of 'First Dates Ireland', has since found happiness, but sadly for fans of the show, it's not with his lookalike date, Tynan Hooper.
Simon won the hearts of the nation earlier this year after he went on a date with with his doppelgänger, Tynan, in the first episode of the show. Sadly though, while the two men appeared to be a match made in heaven and even going on a second date together off-camera, it was all for nought after Simon revealed that they've stopped dating.
"It didn't work out between myself and Tynan," he said, talking to the Irish Daily Star. "I think we were too alike maybe, but we're still in touch and he's an absolute gent, a lovely guy," he continued.
Simon goes on to say however that he's now happy and settled into another relationship with a man who met online and who has already been round to meet the family.
"I have found love since the show though, I met a lovely guy two months ago. He's from Chile and he's absolutely adorable. We met online, it's going really well, my mother loves him!"
Such was the reaction to his appearance on the show however is that he still gets stopped in the street and asked if he and Tynan are still an item.
"The funniest bit was the day after it aired and I was walking into work and this car screeched to a halt a few meters down the road. The reverse lights came on and the window was opening and this guy just shouted at me 'come here, are you still with your man?'
"When I told him no, he just said 'ah no, the missus is going to be raging!'."
