Pat Kenny's new entertainment show, Pat Kenny in the Round, has finally been given a slot in the schedule at UTV Ireland.
The new show, which is filmed in the Round Room at the Mansion House on Dawson Street, Dublin, will broadcast on Monday nights at 9pm on the new Irish channel.
The hour-long show, filmed in front of a live studio audience, will offer a lighter alternative to Claire Byrne Live, RTE One's Monday night current affairs show which broadcasts at 9.30pm
The first show will broadcast on May 11 and five episodes will run consecutively throughout May and June with an additional eight episodes airing in the autumn.
“This is an exciting new chapter in my extended career and I have thoroughly enjoyed preparing for my return to television screens with UTV Ireland," said Pat, who has previously fronted RTE shows including Prime Time, The Late Late Show and Kenny Live.
"We are all very pleased with the first recordings and the format of the series is unlike anything else I have presented in the past.
"I have been fortunate to interview many fascinating people since I began broadcasting, but this series has given me the opportunity to get a truly in-depth feeling for each of our guests. I hope that audiences of all ages are as captivated by their stories as I have been.”
The show will focus on in-depth interviews with Irish and international stars.
Mary Curtis, Head of Channel at UTV Ireland said, "Monday nights are among UTV Ireland’s strongest in terms viewership, so the 9pm slot is a great fit for the show."
Pat has already filmed interviews with Lulu and Commander Chris Hadfield.
“Further recordings will take place over the coming weeks and months and the name of the guest for our first broadcast will be revealed shortly," she added.
