'Pat Kenny In the Round' bounces back with Lulu but is trounced by 'Crimecall' in ratings
Pat Kenny In the Round bounced back this week with an increase of 29,000 viewers on last week's show on UTV Ireland.
Pat's interview with Scottish singer Lulu drew an audience average of 95,000 compared to last week's chat with astronaut Chris Hadfield, which managed to draw just 66,000.
However, last night's show still fell significantly short of the launch two weeks ago when an average 150,000 tuned in for Pat's moving interview with GAA legend Mickey Harte.
This week's Pat Kenny in the Round broadcast at 9.30pm going head to head with RTE One's hour-long Crimecall at 9.35pm.
Crimecall, which is broadcast once a month and draws a consistently solid audience, last night saw a whopping 365,000 tuning in for this month's crop of crime stories and reconstructions.
Claire Byrne Live, meanwhile, aired last night at 10.35pm after Crimecall and Pat Kenny wrapped. Byrne's last show of the season drew an average 219,000 viewers. It will return in September.
The show hit a series high with the hugely successful Marriage Referendum Debate two weeks ago drawing 368,000, more than double Pat Kenny's launch show which aired the same night.
Pat Kenny In the Round will air two more episodes before wrapping up for the summer, with Shane Filan featuring next week.
