Panto star Twink is ready to take on the TV baking world with her own series.

Entertainer Adele King - know by her stage name Twink - is well known for her love of sugar craft. Last year, she started selling her own sweet treats at a Dublin farmers' market.

The 65-year-old told the Herald that she was now in serious talks to front her own baking show.

"There are two different companies talking to me about it.

"We have been talking for quite a while, but I will be honest and say that a couple of the proposals they came up with for me weren't right."

The mother-of-two is very clear about what kind of show she wants to front and said a future programme will be "spikier" than the standard Irish cooking show.

With celebrity clients such as Gay Byrne and his family on her books, Twink said we could be seeing her front her own no-holds-barred series in the near future.

"I love Rachel Allen, but I would rather be roaring at someone," Twink said.

"I think I would like a spikier show. I am a bit more animated. I asked a young girl recently if she was making something for Cement Roadstone or a cake. I think it will be more fun," she added.

Twink said she regularly works through the night to fulfil a steady stream of creative baking orders.

Just last week, she left the VIP Style Awards early in order to finish making a huge Wizard of Oz-themed cake for a themed birthday.
