Over half a million people tune in for Amy Huberman's new drama Striking Out

Amy Huberman's new TV series Striking Out has proved a big hit with viewers.

The second episode of the RTE legal drama secured an average of 544,600 viewers, or 37pc of the available TV audience.

The show seems to have benefited from positive reviews and word-of-mouth because the viewing figures are nearly 100,000 up on the first episode.

An additional 27,400 viewers watched the second episode on RTE One +1.

Striking Out has had a strong performance on RTE Player, with the first episode having had 74,820 streams, and the second episode 5,200 streams.

This made it one of last week's top three streamed programmes.

The series follows Amy's character Tara Flynn, who leaves the law firm owned by her fiance's father after she discovers he was cheating on her.
