Operation Transformation: Lucy reduced to tears over half pound weight loss as Dan is forced to quit

It was a tough weigh-in for Operation Transformation leader Lucy Dillon on Wednesday night's programme.
Lucy's target weight loss this week was 3lb but she lost just half a pound, prompting her to break down in tears.
It was the second week in a row she has not hit her targets and when Dr Ciara Kelly questioned her on it she said she had stuck to her plan "to a T" including training.
However, when quizzed on the quality of her sleep by OT expert Karl Henry, Lucy broke down and left the weigh-in room.
Presenter Kathryn Thomas comforted Lucy before bringing her back into the room.
Dr Eddie Murphy asked her to help him understand what just happened, and a still tearful Lucy replied, “I am tired, I just shut down. You get emotional when you are tired. You don’t really know what’s going on”.
When Dr Eddie probed further, asking if it might be the accumulation of “the stress of being on Operation Transformation”, Lucy said the problem isn’t her participation in the programme.
“That is not stressing me out at all. If anything it was making me feel great," she said.
"I felt brilliant the past couple of weeks, since the word go. This week I could just feel it in my body that I genuinely was shutting down. I was just tired, I was a lot sorer. Last night, I was waking up every hour and a half, I don’t know why."
Dr Eddie told her that operating without sleep is very impactful on mood and energy levels and it is something that they would have to figure out.
Afterward Lucy explained, “I think just bottling up all my emotions, putting on my smile – my Lucy smile - is wearing me down. I am just exhausted."
Also this week a delighted Clare Scanlan exceeded her 3lb weight loss target for the week, losing four pounds, but it was bad news for Dan Kennedy as he was forced to leave the show due to severe colitis.
