'Callan's Kicks' takes a 'biting satirical swipe at politics, sport, music and the media' and kicks off with a very Dublin twist on zombie TV phenomenon 'The Walking Dead'.

The Friday night series starts tonight at 9.35pm and will feature new characters Rachel Allen, Nicky Byrne, BOD and Amy, Christy Moore, Imelda May and Ray Darcy as well as old favourites Enda Kenny, Michael D and Paul Galvin.

Callan's Kicks is written, produced and directed by Oliver Callan alongside 'Republic of Telly' creator James Cotter.

The show had its TV pilot on New Year's Eve, gaining a quarter of the audience share and beating rival Christmas specials by Mario Rosenstock and Irish Pictorial Weekly.

The series will continue on RTE Radio One in the Autumn, and on Fridays at 6.30pm.
