There will be a throwback to the 1980s on the Late Late Show tonight when Australian actor Jason Donovan is one of the guests.

The former Neighbours star was the ultimate teen heart-throb at the time, and his on-screen relationship with Kylie Minogue’s character has gone down in soap history.

The pair dated before splitting up in 1989 after three years together.

Actor and singer Donovan (48), who has gone on to enjoy a hugely successful stage career, will chat with host Ryan Tubridy about life on the set of Neighbours as well as his successful pop career.

He will also open up about how becoming a father transformed his life, and talk about his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

Donovan and Minogue starred on the Australian soap opera as young couple Scott and Charlene Robinson.

Their smash hit duet single Especially For You sold a million copies.

Following their split Kylie (48) went on to date INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, who died in 1997.

Donovan is now married to Angela Malloch and they have three children together.

The couple met when she was working as a stage manager on The Rocky Horror Show in 1998.

Also joining Tubridy on tonight’s Late Late is Irish soprano Celine Byrne, who will be performing on the show.

Other guests include This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes (57) and his wife Ruth Langsford (56).

Holmes will be talking about recovering from his painful double hip surgery.

Room to Improve’s Dermot Bannon is also set to appear and will be telling viewers why the Irish need to give up their love affair with owning property.
