It had previously been reported that the second series of the Sky One show, which once again saw Baz and his 73-year-old mum Nancy tackling a variety of daredevil feats, was the last.

However, speaking to the Irish Daily Star Baz (40) said, "I think it is returning.  I read somewhere that it is not.  But I think it is. As far as I know it is.

"We just haven't gone into production for it yet."

50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy nabbed the gong for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment at the International Emmy Awards last month and both Baz and Nancy were at the ceremony in New York to receive the award.

The first series was broadcast on the Discovery Channel in the US in January.

Ashmaway is currently fronting a documentary on Islam for RTE which focuses on his relationship with the religion into which he was born.

The Lost Muslim is a two-parter with the first episode available on RTE iPlayer and the second airing Tuesday December 22 at 10.10pm.
