Matt Frei's documentary The Mad World of Donald Trump caused a stir with Channel 4 viewers on Tuesday night.
The documentary revealed that Trump had been accused of rape by his ex-wife Ivana during their 1992 divorce.
She had accused him, in her sworn deposition, of raping her at their home in 1989 but after the divorce came through she changed her stance.
"I referred to this as 'rape', but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense."
Also charted in the jaw-dropping doc were some of Trump's interactions with other women.
Last year Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly challenged him on TV, at her peril. He accused her of "having blood coming out of her wherever".
Selina Scott made a documentary about him 1995 and she claims she was "stalked mentally" by him as he sent her 13 "extremely abusive" letters.
We've heard him talking about ridding the US of Muslims and accusing Mexico of forcing their "most unwanted people into the United States", including "criminals, drug dealers, rapists" but the documentary also showed him taking a pop at disabled people.
The most chilling aspect of Frei's documentary, however, was the very real prospect of Trump becoming president.
"I have to say the last time I saw crowds as enthusiastic as this was for Barack Obama in 2008," said Frei, terrifying words illustrated by the crowds of supporters at his rallies.
Viewers were aghast at the film and took to Twitter to vent.
