‘My breast implant scar opened during bootcamp’ - Voice of Ireland contestant battling botched surgery behind scenes

Voice of Ireland contestant Georgina Richmond has been battling botched plastic surgery throughout her time on the show.
The Belfast singer impressed Bressie during the blind auditions with her take on Naughty Boy's hit Running to bag herself a spot on his team.
However, the coaches and audience were unaware that Georgina (30) was in agony due to breast implant surgery she had had two days before.
She had to undo her dress at the back to relieve the pressure and pain but was determined to ignore the pain and give it her best shot.
Five years ago Georgina, who is mum to seven year old Sophie and is a successful pub and club singer, had breast reduction surgery which took her from a 36FF to 36B.
However, too much breast tissue was removed and she subsequently had two liposuction operations to transfer fat from her legs and stomach to her breasts to try to improve the problem.
"I had to get implants because the liposuction didn't work and then two days before the blind audition I had the surgery," she says.
"Then in Bellingham castle for bootcamp one of my implants actually opened up - I had a scar open up 10 inches across my breast."
Despite the horror of the situation, Georgina was so determined to make it through bootcamp that she couldn't address the problem for three weeks.
"I was like that three weeks by the time I got home. I would have had to go under general anaesthetic to have the operation and I would have missed training with Bressie."
Georgina realises the extent of her dedication to music is "crazy" but she adds, "I've wanted this all my life. I've been singing since I was a young girl. It's really a dream for me."
The pretty brunette says she regrets ever having had surgery in the first place but feels she's just "one of the unlucky ones" as most people are happy with their procedures.
Although she has another appointment with a third cosmetic surgery clinic on April 8, if she makes it through tonight's live knockout she'll have to postpone that appointment again.
"I'm not in pain at the moment," she says, "I really hope what I do tonight is enough to get me through."
Georgina will be singing Don't Let Go by En Vogue in the last of the live knockouts tonight on RTE One at 6.30pm.
