Model Daisy Lowe becomes eighth contestant to join Strictly Come Dancing line-up
Model Daisy Lowe is the eighth celebrity contestant to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The 27-year-old joins a line-up which already includes former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac, former Eternal member Louise Redknapp, ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls, singer Will Young, TV presenter Laura Whitmore, radio DJ Melvin Odoom and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
Lowe is the daughter of singer turned designer Pearl Lowe and Bush front man Gavin Rossdale.
She said: "I am used to being on the catwalk and campaigns of major fashion brands with lots of eyes on me but this is completely different from anything I have ever done before!
"My family and friends and I adore Strictly, so when the chance came up to take part - I jumped at it! I am itching to get started and am so looking forward to learning a new skill."
Her modelling career was launched when she was discovered at the age of 15 and she has modelled for brands like Chanel, while also appearing on catwalks in New York, London and Milan for top fashion houses.
She has posed topless for men's magazine Esquire and nude for Playboy.
Lowe is rumoured to be dating former Pop Idol and Popstars contestant Darius Campbell. She previously dated DJ and producer Mark Ronson and Doctor Who star Matt Smith.
She also had a relationship with musician Thomas Cohen, the widower of her friend Peaches Geldof, who died in April 2014.
