RTE's Miriam O'Callaghan will be stepping into the shoes vacated by Ray D'Arcy when he takes a break from his Saturday night show.

There's no rest for the hard-working presenter as she confirmed to the Diary that she'll be reprising her popular Saturday Night with Miriam programme.

With Ray taking a break in May, she'll be back for her 12th year on the weekend chat show with some big-name celebrities.

Miriam was one of the presenters who hosted A Nation's Voice at Collins Barracks for the Centenary commemorations, which she described as a "wonderful experience".

She certainly looked stunning in a silver-and-white ensemble by designer Don O'Neill. "It was very moving and even though the weather went wildly wet and stormy, the symphony orchestra was amazing - they just kept on playing," she said.

She'll be back on the airwaves this Sunday as she interviews Paul Brady for Radio 1.
