Meet Ruby Rose, the newest breakout star of 'Orange is the New Black'

Orange is the New Black's newest inmate, Stella Carlin, is causing a stir both on and off the show.
Who is Ruby Rose?
Rose is a 29-year-old Australian model, actress, DJ and reality TV star who has introduced herself to a whopping new fanbase after joinng the cast of Orange is the New Black.
Who does she play?
Stella Carlin, an Australian Buddhist and inmate at Litchfield Prison with an unknown past. We first meet her in episode six of OITNB's third season, and it becomes swiftly apparent that she will challenge Piper's on-off girlfriend Alex Vause for the blonde's attention.
What's Rose's backstory?
The Australian has made a career out of succeeding in a variety of talent contests, such as a model search for Girlfriend magazine and an MTV VJ competition to find the most popular TV presenter. From here, she hosted and guest-judged on shows such as Australia's Next Top Model and Ultimate School Musical, as well as presenting from the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Her acting career has been less consistent. Stella Carlin has been her most significant role to date, after starring alongside Christina Ricci in 2014 drama Around the Block, and a small part in sitcom Mr & Mrs Murder.
What's notable about her?
Rose came out as a lesbian at 12, and more recently defined her sexuality as genderfluid. She's had a string of high-profile relationships with models such as Catherine McNeil, Lola Van Vorst and Lyndsey Anne McMillan, two of whom she was engaged to. She's currently engaged to Phoebe Dahl, granddaughter of Roald, cousin of Sophie - and told the world the happy news in March through Instagram.
Rose's 1.3 million Instagram followers also appreciate her 60-odd tattoos and attitude to gender identity. Last year she devised and starred in a short film called Break Free, in which she transforms herself from a very feminine woman to a more butch presentation. It's been viewed more than 4 million times.
