"“I’m thrilled to be joining the ‘Ireland AM’ team and becoming a part of such a long-standing, successful and diverse show," Ciara said.

"It’s exciting to get the opportunity to work across such a wide variety of issues and topics. I’m also very passionate about representing local views so I’ve already been hard at work, travelling around the country to secure the best stories for ‘Ireland AM’ viewers.”

Ciara's first report will air tomorrow morning, as she looks at farm safety.

‘Ireland AM’ airs Monday to Friday from 7am – 10.00am on TV3.
