Love/Hate's Nidge and Trish will be reuniting on the small screen for a new two-hour drama series about the 1916 Rising.
Tom Vaughan-Lawlor will play Padraig Pearse in TV3's Trial of the Century while Aoibhinn McGinnity will play a smaller role as Catherine Foster, a woman whose innocent child is shot dead.
Also starring in the series will be Red Rock actor Anthony Brophy. He'll play Irish Volunteers founder Eoin MacNeill, who tried to call off the rising.
The series won't chart the events as they happened, but instead will imagine what might have happened if the leaders of the Rising had been brought to court instead of being executed.
Much of the drama will be filmed in Smithfield at the Green Street Courthouse and other key cast members have yet to be announced.
Trial of the Century is being produced by Treasure Entertainment, the team behind 2013 comedy film The Stag, and won't air until April or May.
Since Love/Hate both Vaughan-Lawlor and McGinnity have worked consistently with the former impressing as PJ Mara in RTE series Charlie and Aoibhinn wowing fans on stage in Elf, The Musical.
She has also landed a role in the US in the upcoming Cinemax series Quarry while Vaughan-Lawlor has landed a role in crime flick Infiltrator opposite Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston.
