Stephen, who hails from Glenview in Tallaght, will play feuding gangster Francis 'Laser' Byrne, who is Beady Burke's main competition on the Ridge Estate.

“It was great to do the role on the show," he said.

"Red Rock is yet another home grown hit and I really enjoyed my days filming. I hope my character has a bigger role to play in the future.”

Stephen's character Laser is a drug dealer whose income has taken a knock since Paudge passed on a tip from Beady about his operation.  The leak has made him paranoid about a rat and Davey Webb is is still n the firing line.

Stephen makes his Red Rock debut on Thursday in a dramatic opening scene which sees him accost a terrified Davey in the street.

McKay (played by Richard Flood) delivers news to Davey Webb (played by Darren Cahill) that the CHIS (Covert Human Intelligence Sources) have turned down his request to have Davey as a confidential informant.

Davey is in fact cooperating with the Gardai and working with McKay but McKay has had his request to have Davey taken in as a confidential informant denied by CHIS (Covert Human Intelligence Sources).

Davey is too young, too scared and too eager to please.  McKay then has no option but to charge Davey with the petrol station robbery.

McKay delivers the bad news to Davey but Davey insists on a deal so the superintendent agrees to bring him in as an informant, off the books.

Davey's information could be McKay's chance to break the drug trade in the Ridge but if Laser finds out it will undoubtedly be the end for Davey.
