Despite the fact that he wasn’t had a winning act since 2005, Louis Walsh is confident that he is mentoring the next X Factor winner.
The veteran judge revealed that he was delighted to get the groups category and is positive they can go all the way.
“Louis is absolutely delighted to have been given the groups.
“But he doesn’t know how he is going to choose because they are all so good,” a source told The Mirror.
“He knows it is going to be very tough to pick who is going home and who is going to get through to the live shows.
“It is always one of the hardest parts of the competition. The groups are all very different but are all amazing.”
Louis (62) is hoping that his groups can emulate the success of Little Mix by winning the show.
Little Mix became the first band to win the talent competition in 2011, but other bands formed on the show such as One Direction and JLS have also gone on to enjoy huge success.
Louis is set to bring his acts to Bermuda for the judge’s houses stage of the competition with ex-judge Tulisa Contostavlos (26).
After being cleared of drugs charges she is rumoured to make a sensational return to the show and will helping Louis decide who makes it through to the live finals.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (31) will bring her girls to the South of France with The Voice coach Will.i.am (39) rumoured to help her decide, while Simon (52) will bring the over-25’s to America and Mel B (39) will bring her boys to Mexico.
The X Factor returns to ITV on August 30.
