Lorraine Keane to return to TV screens as she lands gig with UTV Ireland
Former TV3 presenter Lorraine Keane will be back on Irish TV screens shortly as she lands a gig with UTV Ireland.
The 42-year-old broadcaster is lined up for a one-off gig with new station UTV Ireland, interviewing singer Josh Groban for a show airing Sunday May 3.
"It's a look at his career to date and a look ahead at what's next and Lorraine has a huge amount of experience in broadcasting and particularly in entertainment so she's a great fit for it," said a UTV Ireland spokesperson.
Although it's a one-off, they revealed that Lorraine may work with the station again should further similar opportunities arise.
She took time out from her TV career in 2009 after more than a decade at TV3 as anchor on flagship entertainment show Xpose.
The move came on the back of a rumoured bust-up with station bosses although Lorraine said she wished to spend more time with her two daughters, Emelia (12) and Romy (9).
In 2013 she returned to TV3 briefly to present Late Lunch Live and last year she revealed she was pitching a cookery show to various TV stations.
In January this year she told the Herald, "I've been asked to pitch things outside of entertainment as well because I've matured as a person, I'm a mother too.
"Things that interest me now are different to the things that would have interested me 10 years ago, before I had Amelia. From that point of view you evolve and change as a person."
