Lauren Conrad will finally make a return to reality tv in The Hills reunion
We’ve waited seven years for this.
Lauren Conrad has announced that she’s returning to reality TV, exactly ten years after reality drama The Hills hit our screens.
“Today is the 10th anniversary of The Hills! I am excited to announce that MTV will premiere an anniversary special with me on Tuesday 8/2!” she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old left the MTV hit show in 2009, and has since released a book series, LA Candy, and two fashion lines, LC Lauren Conrad and Paper Crown.
Lauren took to her website to express her thoughts on the ten year anniversary and admitted that she hasn’t watched any episodes of The Hills, except for the pilot, since the show aired.
“As hard as it is to look back (other than watching the pilot, I haven’t watched any episodes since they first aired), it brings me a lot of joy to see that now, despite all the challenges we faced together back then, each of us seems to have found what we were looking for,” she wrote.
The noughties fashion icon said it was challenging watching back on her younger self, who was only 20 years old when the show started.
“Even though I know how it all ends, it was a little difficult watching my younger self struggle—I was in way over my head! It was odd watching all of us just starting out, with no idea what the future held (although, no one really could have prepared us for what the next few years would bring).”
The MTV anniversary special will air on August 2, where Lauren will have “an honest conversation” about life behind the camera, share behind-the-scenes footage and give us an insight to her life today.
Lauren first appeared in Laguna Beach when she was just 18 before being offered her own spin-off show, The Hills.
The Hills followed Lauren and her friends’ lives and is best known for the real-life Gossip Girl-esque fashion inspiration, enviable internships with Teen Vogue and, of course, the drama. (Heidi and Spencer, we’re talking about you.)
Lauren married former musician William Tell in a lavish California ceremony in 2014.
As the theme song for the show says, the rest is still unwritten…
