Kath and Kim actor and satirist John Clarke has died aged 68
Australian comedian, writer and actor John Clarke has died aged 68.
ABC News confirmed that the New Zealand born star passed away from natural causes while hiking in Victoria on Sunday.
Clarke had been a regular on Australian TV since the 70s and had just completed season two of his ABC TV show The Ex-PM on Friday.
He published several books throughout the course of his career but was best known for performing and writing satirical interviews on shows on Channel Nine and ABC.
He also had a role in popular series Kath and Kim and was a script editor on shows including The Lano and Woodley Show.
His family thanked fans for their support in a statement.
"John died doing one of the things he loved the most in the world, taking photos of birds in beautiful bushland with his wife and friends," the statement read.
"He is forever in our hearts."
